Attack on the Pentagon
The official story is that one of the aircraft highjacked on September 11th 2001 was a Boeing 757, American Airways flight 77, which took off from Dulles Airport, Washington. 25 minutes after taking off this aircraft went significantly off course. Standard operational procedures would have been to send up military aircraft to intercept aircraft which have wondered ‘off course’, yet this aircraft flew for nearly a further hour without any interception from American fighters, even when it eventually headed towards the Pentagon. Piloted by Hani Hanjour, who had only received a few flying lessons in a Cessna type light aircraft, the 757, as it approached the Pentagon, was made to perform a very tricky manoeuvre, even for experienced pilots, by downwardly spiralling for nearly a whole turn and dropping 7,000 feet in around 2 ½ minutes before levelling out just above the Pentagon lawn and then crashing into the West Wing of the building itself. The pentagon must rank as one of, if not the, most heavily defended and monitored buildings in the world.
However, recent analysis of the data from the black box, released under a 'Freedom of Information Act' request, shows that the aircraft was far higher than the Pentagon the moment before impact, see Pilots for Truth.

Where was the wreckage?
Most people have seen the images of the Pentagon after the floors had fallen, but many people don’t know that the floors did not fall for around ½ hour after being hit by the aircraft. However, what is significant is that, for the scene of an aircraft crash, it would have been thought that there would be much aircraft debris and wreckage littered around.

Hot enough to vapourise a plane, yet bodies are identifiable?
The official explanation as to why there is little wreckage is that the fire burned so hot that the aircraft was ‘vapourised’, a very odd explanation, as a lot of aircraft parts are made of very high quality steel (think how hot the engine parts must get in the aircraft you fly in). Also what is odd is that investigators could identify in excess of 100 bodies using DNA tests, which begs the question that if the fire was so hot that it vapourised a whole aircraft, then why were fragile human bodies left sufficiently intact to be able to carry out DNA tests?
Aircraft passes through 16' hole?
From examination of the damage done to the Pentagon, many are asking the question just how did a large Boeing 757 squeeze into the small hole made. It appears from the images that no damage was done by the wings, engines or tail plane.
The aircraft's tail, the top of which would have been over 40' above the ground, should have impacted to around the top of the unbroken windows. This photo clearly shows a serious lack of impact damage due to that tail. The laws of physics were again seemingly violated on the day of the attacks, at least were one to believe the official 911 commission's explanation!

Why is no plane showing on surveillance videos?
Another puzzling aspect to this saga is that there is little video footage released showing any Boeing as hitting the Pentagon, even though many surveillance cameras are mounted in and around the building. The only Pentagon images released do not show a large aircraft hitting the building. Security films were seized by the FBI from local businesses within a few minutes of the attack, why? Only one of the latter has ever been released, in response to a 'Freedom of Information' requirement, but again, no plane showing.
Vice President's rather odd words?
And one very perplexing fact is the testimony, given by the Secretary of Transportation, Mr Norman Mineta, testifying before the 911 Commission inquiry, that he was in the Presidential Emergency Operating Centre with vice President Dick Cheney, just as American Airways flight 77 was approaching the Pentagon. Mineta overheard the following conversation pass between Cheney and another.
"...a young man who had come in to the vice president, 'The plane is 50 miles out. The plane is 30 miles out.' And when it got down to 'The plane is 10 miles out' the young man also said to the vice president 'Do the orders still stand?'. And the vice president turned and whipped his neck around and said 'Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?'"
So what order was Cheney giving and was this a direct stand down order given to the military?

Many who are critical of the official explanations of 911 are continually referred to the magazine "Popular Mechanics" who argue in support of the various explanations put forth as to how 911 events happened the way we are told they happened.
